About Naka

An early-stage technology startup building ride-hailing.

Naka is based in India. The company is building a rider product, driver product, and the marketplace technology needed to connect them.

Why Naka

A simple ride depends on a complex marketplace working well.

A rider wants a clear way to request transportation and understand the journey. A driver needs useful information and understandable access to the platform. Naka exists to build the products and technology with both experiences in view.

What we’re building

Product, marketplace, and operations—designed together.

Naka combines a rider-facing product, a driver-facing product, and the real-time systems needed to coordinate them. The company is currently building this platform.

Rider product

The interface and journey around requesting, taking, and getting support for a ride.

Driver platform

Platform access, ride opportunities, trip workflows, account information, safety, and support.

Mobility infrastructure

The marketplace, location, matching, communication, payment, notification, reliability, and operational systems involved in ride-hailing.

Why subscriptions

Make driver access easier to describe and understand.

Naka is exploring subscription-based platform access for drivers in daily, weekly, and monthly periods. The idea is to let a driver choose access based on time rather than describe every platform charge only at the level of an individual ride. Exact prices, fees, and complete terms are still being developed.

Principles

The standards shaping the work.

  1. 01

    Build for both sides

A marketplace is only healthy when its products consider the needs and constraints of riders and drivers.

  2. 02

    Make economics understandable

People should be able to see the terms of the relationship they enter with the platform.

  3. 03

    Reliability is a product feature

A well-designed interface cannot compensate for systems that do not behave dependably.

  4. 04

    Design safety into the system

Identity, product state, operations, support, and data protection have to work together.

  5. 05

    Reduce operational complexity

Technology should make the real work of coordinating transportation clearer and more manageable.

Current stage

Naka is pre-launch and actively building.

Naka is developing the rider experience, driver platform, and marketplace systems. Product availability and final commercial terms will be published when they are ready.
